How to find out and change the PHP version?

Webglobe uses the latest versions of PHP, but also offers older versions. You can find information about the version of a particular site and the possibility to change it in the client administration.

For web hosting hosted by Webglobe, PHP technology is available in PHP 7.1, PHP 7.2, PHP 7.3, PHP 7.4 and now PHP 8.0 (also older versions 7.0, 5.6, 5.4, 5.3 and 5.2).

Note that PHP 7.3 no longer includes the mcrypt PHP module.

Also note that all older versions of PHP: 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 5.6 and 7.0 are outdated versions and no updates (or security updates) are being released. Therefore, we recommend that customers upgrade to at least PHP 7.2.

How do you change PHP?

You can change PHP in your administration.

When you click on an individual hosting you will see the PHP settings option. Set the PHP version for the entire domain and individual variables for selected directories.

How to set variables?

In the same section you can edit variables such as upload_max_filesize, register_globals, etc.
